The daily and weekly habits that build a personal brand

Talent Media · 7 August 2026 · 4 min read

Hashtags, keywords and VIP lists , plus the exact daily and weekly routine we give candidates who want to be visible to hiring managers.

Three levers do most of the work.

Hashtags , used well, they put your content in front of people who do not yet follow you. Check how many people use and follow a hashtag before you adopt it, keep your own list handy, and review it every few months.

Keywords , these are the terms recruiters search for: industry, job title, company. They belong in your headline, About section and experience.

VIP lists , people at your target companies, with relevant titles, who are active. Their recent activity is where your comments are seen by exactly the right audience.

Daily:

- Comment on five posts in your main feed - Comment on five posts from your VIP list - Comment and connect on five posts in a hashtag feed - Comment on three peer posts - Reply to any missed comments on your own posts

Weekly:

- Write three original posts and engage with the comments - Comment on three posts from a keyword search - Reply to all direct messages

Measure it. Track followers, profile views, and the average views, reactions and comments of your last three posts. Keeping track of your vitals is how you know it is working.

Remember: on average, employees have a network ten times larger than their company's follower base. That is why a personal brand matters.
